This year’s Joint Parish Advent Mission invites you into a deeper relationship with the Blessed Mother through the gentle and powerful preaching of Fr. Jeremiah Shryock, CFR. If you’ve ever longed for peace, clarity, or a renewed closeness to Christ, this mission is for you.
Fr. Shryock is known for helping people encounter Mary not as an abstract figure, but as a living mother who actively leads souls to her Son. His reflections grew from his own journey of discovering that—just like Mary—the whole world needs our personal “yes” to God. In his acclaimed book Mary and the Interior Life, he shares how Mary taught him to surrender, to trust, and to allow Jesus to shape every part of life.
Fr. Donald Haggerty, a leading contemporary spiritual writer, describes Fr. Shryock’s insights as “inspired passages and uniquely contemplative… a must-read for everyone aspiring to enter more deeply into the life of holiness.” That same contemplative, heart-opening wisdom will be at the center of our parish mission.
During these four evenings, you will:

Fr. Jeremiah Myriam Shryock, CFR, is a Franciscan Friar of the Renewal currently serving at San Juan Diego Friary in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He is a retreat preacher, spiritual director, and the author of Amid Passing Things (2019), Mary and the Interior Life (2023), and the forthcoming Let Him Lead (2025).
